Integration of Silver Bullet’s Ranger API into Maverick’s M-5000 Transport provides flexibility, maximized efficiencies for end users
PENSACOLA, Fl., January 12th, 2004— Pensacola, Florida-based Silver Bullet Technology, Inc., a leading provider of check scanner technology as well as item processing solutions for financial institutions, has developed a strategic partnership with Mukilteo, Wash.-based Maverick International, a provider of a complete line of MICR check encoding, imaging and payment processing solutions. Maverick International will incorporate Silver Bullet’s Ranger API, an industry standard software tool designed to allow item processing applications to run unchanged on a wide variety of transport types, into its check scanner technology.
“As a transport manufacturer Maverick International is not only concerned about finding a quality application partner, but also a partner that can successfully interface to our hardware,” said Randy Braa, president of Maverick International. “Regardless of the quality of the transport or application, a bad interface can make your product perform poorly. To eliminate this possibility, Maverick decided to standardize on the Ranger interface.”
Braa added that the company will only sell its hardware to “Ranger qualified partners” in order to ensure a successful outcome.
As the industry standard, Silver Bullet’s Ranger software allows customers to use virtually any item processing software with virtually any check scanning hardware. Benefits of the partnership include: increased staffing flexibility, a reduction in product development time and greater efficiency within the sales process.
“As financial institutions begin to feel the ripple effects of Check 21, they will begin to look for standards to maximize efficiencies and ensure image quality,” said Bryan Clark, president of Silver Bullet Technology. “End users of Ranger API enjoy the benefits of a single transport interface and the freedom to mix and match software and transport types. As we begin to see more mergers and acquisitions in the financial arena, this flexibility will become increasingly more valuable.”
