Company reaffirms its commitment to setting standard practices and procedures
PENSACOLA, Fl., March 3rd, 2004— Pensacola, Florida-based Silver Bullet Technology, Inc., the world’s foremost check scanner experts providing item processing software and solutions that have come to serve as the de facto standard for financial institutions, has joined X9, an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited committee. As a member of X9, Silver Bullet has the opportunity to participate and comment on developing and publishing standards for the financial services industry.
X9 is responsible for creating technical standards that set precise criteria used as guidelines for the use of new technology within the financial services industry. The organization comprises more than 200 members, including investment managers, banks, software and equipment manufacturers, credits unions, government agencies and depositories, amongst others.

As we move toward full Check 21 implemetation, updated standards for check processing, electronic check exchange and the financial industry’s use of data encryption will allow financial institutions to take full advantage of their technology investments. By standardizing these processes, X9 enhances product reliability, promotes interoperability of goods and services, and facilitates the transfer of technology.

ASC X9 must develop American National Standards under ANSI procedures, as well as have ANSI approval for X9’s own standard operating procedures.
