Sterling National Bank Chooses Silver Bullet's Scout™ As Its Check Scanner
Monitoring Strategy
PENSACOLA, FL, June 5, 2008 - New York, NY-based Sterling National Bank has selected Silver
Bullet's Scout™ as its check scanner monitoring strategy.
Scout is a web-based system that remotely monitors the operations and performance of check scanners, receipt printers
and other devices. Devices can be monitored from a central location whether they are down the street or halfway
around the world. Scout can be configured to send alerts regarding out-of-spec performance, jams, degrading
capabilities, and other common maintenance issues. Likewise, Scout can also be configured to send alerts when a
device drops below pre-set data quality thresholds for MICR rejects and image quality. This system can be used with
devices deployed inside a bank or remotely.
Eliot Robinson, Executive Vice President and head of IT for Sterling National Bank commented, "We were initially
drawn to the Scout system because it is a pro-active system designed to flag issues before they develop into a more
significant problem." Sterling National Bank intends to utilize the software initially to monitor image quality on
check scanners located within their bank branches.
"The Scout system ties in with our philosophy of being ahead of the game when it comes to quality control and
ensuring client satisfaction. In today's marketplace, technology failure is met with little sympathy from customers.
Understanding the ever-increasing impact technology has on our client relationships, Sterling operates on the
premise that it should not just find solutions to issues, but should prevent them from occurring in the first place,"
added Mr. Robinson.
"We are delighted that Sterling National Bank has chosen Scout as their remote monitoring strategy," said Jamille
Ellingson, national account executive for Silver Bullet. "They will have a strategic time and cost savings advantage
in their branch operations with the addition of Scout."
